Ohio Polymer Summit 2008

The biennial Ohio Polymer Summit will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008. This gathering of the leaders in Ohio's rubber, plastics, sealants, adhesives and other polymer industries will provide important information about the industry's future and a chance to network with those who are shaping that future. Learn more or register to attend. This is a great opportunity to get your name in front of the polymer industry in Ohio. Sign up as a sponsor or exhibitor now.

See the events page for other polymer-related events around the state.

Company Registration Procedure

Go to  www.thirdfrontierintern.ohio.gov to register your internship opportunity.

Click on "Businesses" and Select "PolymerOhio" as the Program Grantee by whom you were referred.

You will be guided through the process to agree to the terms of the Program, electronically sign the agreement, prepare a profile of your company, and select a User Name and Password.

Select a category for your company. In most cases, it will be "Advanced Manufacturing" or "Advanced Materials."  You may include job descriptions under any of the categories and more than one category.

Enter information about the position. The description should be adequate for a student to understand what experience including major is required, if any, and the type of work that the intern would perform.

Once you have a user name and password, you may enter the database and search for students in the category for which you want the intern.  If you want to search for students in another category than the one you selected for your company, you will need to enter another company profile for the additional category.

When you identify a student of interest, use the student information provided to contact him/her. Upon reaching agreement with the student, you will use your company's hiring procedure to hire the student.

After the student has agreed to accept the position, the company will go into the database and make the match. The system will remove your posting for an intern and the intern's resume and availability information. An email confirmation will be sent to the student, school, company, and PolymerOhio.

If you have identified a candidate not presently registered on www.ohio3fip.com and want to hire the student, please have the student go on the above web site and register.  As soon as possible after the student has registered, go on the web site and make the match. Everything will proceed then as described above

At the end of the Internship, log on to the web site and proceed to Request for Reimbursement. The reimbursement request requires a "success story" or evaluation. These stories are important evidence of the success of the program and may be used to support future requests for funding for the Third Frontier Internship Program. Please provide whatever information you can to help promote the program.

PolymerOhio will send the reimbursement as soon as the State Administrator remits the funds.
