The Value of Simulation Software to Your Company Print E-mail
Tuesday, 19 March 2013 14:52

How the Manufacturing and Polymer Portal can help you!

Growth and survival in today’s global marketplace requires companies to continue to innovate and improve upon their existing products, processes and services.

Simulation software and other computational methods are important tools to help you maintain a competitive edge through efficient product design, increased data analysis, and improved manufacturing processes.  These methods can help you reduce the time, labor, and cost needed to bring products to market while also facilitating better research and development capabilities.

Innovative approaches such as simulation software can help in many ways.  For example, if potential quality problems can be discovered and addressed in the product design phase, then a company's overall production effectiveness can be greatly enhanced. Traditionally, manufacturers have addressed these issues by trial-and-error, a very cost and time-consuming workaround. Ensuring better competitive position, efficient engineering tools are becoming more and more vital to increasing economic competitiveness through cost savings and quality enhancements.

The Polymer Portal gives manufacturers access to this game-changing technology by offering affordable modeling and simulation software packages, vital training courses and certificate programs, and solutions to the complex IT obstacles that may otherwise prevent adoption of simulation tools.

Simulation software should never be an added cost to your present operations.  Rather, it should replace less efficient processes, thus increasing productivity.

Ohio State Subsurface Energy Resource Center Print E-mail
Tuesday, 12 June 2012 12:25
“Nothing in the past 50 years has changed the energy supply picture in the U.S. as rapidly as shale energy (often considered to be part of what is called ‘unconventional’ oil and gas by the petroleum industry),” said Jeff Daniels, Co-director for The Ohio State University Subsurface Energy Resource Center(SERC). “The ability to produce natural gas and oil from shale came about as a result of combining horizontal drilling with hydraulic fracturing. Hydraulic fracturing has been around for over 50 years as a routine method for enhancing oil production. Horizontal drilling came on the scene fairly recently (arguably 5 to 10 years ago).”
