HEBRON, Ohio, February 13, 2112 -- Polymera, Inc. announced today that wood/natural fiber polymer composite material scientist Dr. Derek Tsai will lead development of advanced formulations at the central Ohio-based producer of WPC (wood/natural fiber polymer composite) materials.

Dr. Tsai, Polymera’s newly appointed Vice President of Material Development, is one of North America’s leading experts in Forest Products and WPC material science.  “With a Master of Science in Forest & Natural Resources, and a PhD in Material Science & Engineering (Washington State University), Dr. Tsai adds significant material development capability for the benefit of our customers”, stated Polymera’s Senior Vice-President, Herb Hutchison. Merablend compounds are available in both standard and custom formulations. Bio100 Technologies, formerly Poly Green Technologies, LLC, was founded in spring, 2009 through a collaborative effort based on the work of Dr. Yebo Li, a bioprocess/biosystems engineer in the Department of Food, Agricultural & Biological Engineering at OARDC/OSU, The Ohio State University’s Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio. After an initial period of exploring the technology, which derives a biopolyol from agricultural-based waste products, the company applied for and won a TechGenesis Technology Grant from TechColumbus.
