The Ohio Polymer Strategy Council is a united and dynamic group of senior industry, academic, and government leaders working collectively as a driving force to strengthen Ohio’s polymer industry and its image to accelerate the transformation of the industry to global leadership in technology-driven opportunities. Members of OPSC are selected based on their dedication to innovation, activity level, and passion to make a difference in the polymer, advanced material and bioproducts industry. Since its beginning in April 2001 the OPSC has made a major positive impact for the polymer and advanced material industry: Gained major recognition and visibility of the opportunities for Ohio Ohio ranked # 1 in nation, ~$50 billion in annual shipments 2800+ companies, 140,000+ employees Ohio Polymer Strategic Opportunity Roadmap Nanotech, Photonics, Renewable resource-based materials, Biopolymers, High Strength materials noted as growth opportunities OPSC is leading the formation of new collaborations and connections across Ohio Value of the OPSC efforts are clearly reflected in the Third Frontier initiative Major roles played in gaining support for Wright Center of Innovation (WCI), Research & Commercialization Program (RCP) and Wright Project (WP) proposals Direct engagement with 4 WCIs Supported over 20% of the RCP proposal submissions 4 of 5 of the RCPs support the industry $250+ million Third Frontier grants supporting polymers/advanced materials
