The Polyimide family contains both thermoset and thermoplastic members. All of them are high temperature, tough, chemically resistant materials. Some are used to make microwave components (since they are transparent to microwaves), lamp sockets and threaded plastic fasteners, adhesives, printed circuit boards and fibers.
